Our vision

Women in rural areas of Rajasthan face several challenges in their day-to-day life. A society biased towards men and the lack of education and opportunities are some of the problems that have become big stumbling blocks, preventing women from leading a life of self-respect.

About Us

Before founding Vasudha Jan Vikas Sansthan, Mona Sharma was a well-known journalist in Jaipur. After getting a master's degree in journalism, she made her debutwith Dainik Bhaskar – the country’s top Hindi newspaper. She had developed interests in covering issues related to women early on and extensively reported about their problems and achievements.

She covered the Woman Beat for the newspaper. ‘Woman Bhaskar’– a segment edition ofDainik Bhaskar for women - was headed by Mona Sharma. During her time, Dainik Bhaskar for Women received the Best Newspaper Award in Asia Pacific.

On the occasion of Independence Day (15 August 2018), Mona Sharma, founder of Vasudha Jan Vikas Sansthan, was honoured in a ceremony held at Thanagaji Higher Secondary School. She was awarded for doing remarkable work in the field of women empowerment. SDM of the area, Mr. Kailash Sharma awarded citation and trophy to Mona Sharma. Thanagaji BDO Mrs. Jyoti Prajapati, Principal Mrs. Lalitha Devi, Sarpanch Mrs. Santosh Sharma and many dignitaries of the area were present on the occasion.

We organize several activities, programs and events to bring about a positive change in the lives of rural women.

Sanitary Napkin Bank

Sanitary napkin bank was established on 26 March 2019 by Vasudha Jan Vikas Sansthan to make girls and women aware of menstrual health and hygiene in Thanagaji and provide them sanitary pads free of cost. Hundreds of women from the self-help groups .

Health camp for women

A medical camp for women was organized by Vasudha Jan Vikas Sansthan at on the occasion of International Women's Day. Local women were made aware of hygiene. They were told how to prevent infection. Free sanitary napkins and medicines were distributed to women.

Gender equality training program

A two-day training program was organized at the Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Institute in Jaipur to increase the participation of women in local administration of villages and to create awareness about gender equality.

Seminar in association with UN for Women

As part of an initiative by Vasudha Jan Vikas Sansthan, a Mahila Sabha was organized in Thanagaji and Vijayapura Panchayat under the supervision of the representatives of the United Nations for Women.

Skill development bootcamp

A Skill Development Camp was organized in Thanagaji Gram Panchayat Samiti, in which around 400 women from 8 gram panchayats of the area participated. The women were trained in making handicrafts and decorative items, bandanavars, bangles and rakhiby women entrepreneurs Neetu Khandelwal.

The NGO in association with All India Maheshwari Women's Organization is in the process of setting up modern vending machines of sanitary napkins in the surrounding villages This will help those women and girls who need a sanitary napkin, but due to lack of facilities.
